Assessment :

Each module will be assessed by an assignment contributing 30% to the overall mark and a two hour written examination contributing 70% to the overall mark. The project will be assessed on a 100% basis upon completion.

Examinations :

BCOL course examinations are held three (3) times per year during the months of April, August and December at approved designated locations. These are usually at numerous authorised Centres. If you are not located near to an authorised examination centre, arrangements can be made through British Council Offices however the administration and invigilation costs (US$30 to 100 per examination) will be the responsibility of each student.

Exam Entry Cards are sent to each student through the website and your exam timetable will identify the time and place for each paper. For verification purposes, you will be required to bring the exam entry card and some form of identification, such as your ID, CPR (Ikama), Driving Licence or Passport etc, for all your examinations.

You have a number of chances to pass each examination. In the event that you fail an exam the first time you may re-sit it on two further occasions. Examination fees will be incurred for each re-sit. After three attempts, you would be required to repeat the module and incur both module fee and examination fee. If you fail the project you will be required to pay the module fee again and possibly select a different topic.

You can apply to defer an examination for valid medical or compassionate reasons by sending your request on an on-line deferment form. A fee may be charged if you defer an examination for an invalid reason.
