The team is on hand to help you at all stages of your involvement with us. We are able to answer questions about the various programmes on offer, provide explanations and advice where necessary and tuition for specific subject based course modules. All student contact and the provision of specialist information regarding programmes will be coordinated by Ashok or Thelma.

Once you have commenced a study programme, regular contact is available through our mentor system where practicing professional managers will provide support, advice and guidance to you regarding the study material and study methods in the various programmes.

Abraham has been mentoring and tutoring mature students for many years. He is a Chartered Accountant with international experience and is also an MBA graduate with a double Major in Operational Research and Computer Systems Management. His hands-on experience in finance, accounting, business analysis and development of management information systems formed the basis of his knowledge and skill in the implementation of integrated reporting systems. Abraham is an accomplished lecturer of management studies and is equally comfortable with group presentations as he is mentoring on a one-to-one basis.

Ashok has a Bachelors degree in Computer Sciences from Brunel University UK (1974). He has held a senior management position in real time reservations systems in the airline industry and was chief operating officer of a large computer company before starting his own consultancy business . He has completed numerous consultancy projects for major organisations in the Middle East and has taught, tutored and counselled students at all levels in the IT disciplines. His experience of real time systems and broad understanding of their applications enables him to provide students with guidance and understanding of complex theories contained in some programmes. Ashok has real enthusiasm and interest in providing student support systems for open learning and consequently is able to encourage students to utilise technology to increase their knowledge and qualifications.

Asim has a First Class B.Com degree from Karachi University and since qualifying has continued to study and work in the field of Accountancy, being admitted to the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, ACCA, as a Full Member in April 2000. He has worked at all levels in major international companies covering a broad spectrum of assignments within the field of finance. Asim is currently a well qualified, practicing Accounts Manager who has extended his managerial skills by teaching and training others studying for professional qualifications.

In this he is demonstrating his ability and willingness to impart knowledge, and a desire to constantly update and extend his own skills.

Chandan holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She is a practicing Marketing specialist with over 10 years of international experience in the areas of Marketing & Sales, Brand Management, Marketing Research & Consultancy together with marketing and sales course design and delivery. Throughout her career Chandan has contributed to projects in market profiling, launch studies, demand estimation studies and user & attitude studies to generate and maintain businesses. Chandan has been teaching and tutoring students in the field of Marketing since 1995.

Dey is a Chartered Accountant currently working as Internal Auditor for a prestigious group of companies operating franchises in wholesale, retail, marketing and distribution. After qualifying with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Dey achieved Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Company Secretaries in 1997. In the latter he was awarded a Gold Medal for the highest grade in Corporate Tax Management. His understanding of financial and economic theories and his knowledge of their practical application will enable him to provide students with advice and guidance on how to assimilate theories and concepts and apply them in their study.

George has a Bachelors degree in Commerce majoring in Advanced Accounting and Auditing and has been a member of the Institute of Administrative Accountants of London since 1985. His current job as regional manager for a global financial organisation keeps him in contact with all aspects of finance and accounting, both forecasting and actual. Over the past 20 years, George has shared his vast knowledge and practical work experience with many others by tutoring through formal group classroom sessions, coaching and personal counselling. His relaxed systematic style has proved to be very successful when preparing students for Professional Examinations and his genuine interest in the development of their skills and knowledge is evident in recorded examination pass rates.

Hubert holds an MBA specialising in Marketing from Central State University USA (1987) and has been a member of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing UK since 1980. He has taught, lectured, tutored and mentored university and college students completing modules and certificate, diploma and degree level study in the marketing field. His experience culminated in mentoring MBA students in the UK and abroad. He has an extensive knowledge of past and present marketing theory and practice and this enables him to provide positive guidance and encouragement to students studying on distance learning programmes in the areas of general management, marketing, consultancy skills and human resource management. As a mentor, he was a local contact with responsibility for guiding students through the study material, in addition to motivating and encouraging them to complete units as scheduled.

Dr. John holds both a BSc (Hon) and PhD in Mechanical Eng'g from the University of Wales, UK and is a Fellow of number of Professional Institutes, including the Institutes of Personnel Development and Management Services. He has extensive work experience within industrial and commercial environments in Europe and the Middle East in the fields of hydrocarbon, aluminium, steel and food processing. As a practicing senior executive manager and consultant, Dr John has wide experience in formulating and implementing corporate business strategies and development plans including budgetary and profitability systems, joint venture business analysis, project management, change management, organisational design and development, industrial engineering, management services and human resource management and development. He has written and presented seminar papers in many of his specialist areas and has tutored and mentored individuals through their career development programmes. He is currently writing a book on human resource management and development.

Kishore graduated from the University of London with a combined Degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science and at Masters level specialized in Finance and Strategic Management. With this combination of subjects, his 20 year career has focused on Information Technology and Investment Banking operations and processes across all major products. His knowledge of retail, investment and private banking was gained within ‘blue chip’ organizations and successful management of a range of global projects. Through International assignments Kishore has gained experience of business processes and management principles in Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North America and the Far East.

Dr. Moona has a PhD (1997) and an MBA in Business Administration from California USA. She has a Bachelors Degree in Tourism and has completed post graduate studies in Mass Communication and Economics. Her recent professional work experience at senior management levels is in Finance and Banking and this has enabled her to teach, guide and mentor students in the complex theories and concepts of these subjects within MBA programmes. Moona quickly develops an excellent rapport with students and enables her to achieve good results in the open learning field.

Dr. Mohamed obtained his Doctorate of Business Administration from Nova South Eastern University USA in 1997 specialising in International Management. His Bachelors Degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and MBA in International Business together with extensive experience as a marketing consultant within the service industry, engineering and commerce provides an impressive basis for his teaching and tutoring skills and enables him to help and guide students in the application of theories to practical situations. He is an active member of a number of Professional Associations including the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK , through which he maintains a current appreciation of business systems, methods and dynamics. Mohamed has mentored students studying by distance learning on MBA programmes and his theoretical knowledge provides an excellent basis from which to guide students on the applications of these theories in business.

Dr Philip read for his MA in Natural Sciences at Peterhouse, Cambridge and gained his PhD in Engineering Systems from Queen Mary, University of London in 1972. He is an active Member of a number of British Professional Engineering Institutes and is author of numerous publications in the field of engineering control systems.  His international career in IT and systems control has spanned process control, manufacturing, telecommunications, data handling and protection, computing security and regulatory conformance, IS management systems, re-engineering and improvement of business processes, billing systems and business information warehousing. He has worked in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Philip has extensive experience as a provider of higher education through the counselling, tutoring and lecturing of undergraduate and postgraduate students for the Open University and other British distance learning programmes.

After completing a B.Com at the University of Madras and commencing his career in Finance, Raj worked in a number of different countries whilst advancing his professional standing. He is a Fellow Member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, UK, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, UK and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has been involved in the academic aspects of accounting and finance for the past 15 years, mainly as a faculty member in various institutes of management in India. He provides coaching for CIMA/ACCA students and is an examiner and paper setter for premier accounting bodies. More than 40 articles have been written by Raj, published in professional journals and business newspapers, covering all aspects of financial management, management accounting such as brand valuation, activity-based costing, target costing, project management and economic value addition.

Sajna graduated with a B.Com and is a Chartered Accountant with hands-on experience of the preparation of accounts, budgets, business plans, feasibility studies, management information reports and internal audits as routine company control procedures and has extensive knowledge of Oracle Financial Systems. Sajni has developed customised computerized accounting system and Management Information Systems and in parallel with her career in finance, has worked as an instructor of Accounts and related subjects.

After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Satish specialized at Postgraduate Diploma and Masters level in Materials Management. He also holds a Diploma in Imports and Exports and lists his specializations as Global Sourcing and Purchasing, Inventory Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Through his 19 years of work experience in various industries Satish has developed his knowledge and interest in supply chain management in the areas of raw materials, chemicals, machinery, electrical and electronic components, consumables and packaging materials. He currently holds the position of Procurement Manager for a large multinational ISO 9001 certified company in the Middle East and is confident and happy to share his knowledge and experiences with others through group sessions or individual counselling.

Sudhir has a Bachelors degree and an MBA in Materials and Production Management coupled with extensive experience at senior management level in purchasing, logistics, storage and materials management. Throughout his career he has tutored and lectured students completing studies at certificate, diploma and degree levels. His qualifications and broad management level expertise allows him to provide students with real time knowledge, understanding and examples of the theories referenced in the many academic and professional manuals. Sudhir continues to update his own knowledge through membership of various professional institutions and passes this on to his students.

Sue has qualified and worked in the field of Education for over 25 years. She holds a B.Ed. in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Manchester, UK, a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language and has specialised through an Advanced Diploma in Mathematics Education and MA in Curriculum Development, Learning and Assessment from the Open University, UK. Sue is currently a Lead Development Tutor at the University of Derby, UK, developing work experience for young people with learning difficulties. She is an experienced NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier with D32/33 and D34 Awards.

Tahir is presently Senior Legal Counsel with one of the largest, well established firms of Attorneys and Legal Consultants in the Middle East. After qualifying LL.B from the University of Khartoum in 1972 and being admitted to the Bar, Tahir has been retained as legal counsel by numerous Government agencies, private companies and institutions. In a long and distinguished career at the Bar, he has specialised in Corporate, Commercial, Civil and Maritime Law, directly participated in Banking, Finance and Insurance cases and is a noted interpreter of Sharia Law. Tahir has developed a special interest in Arbitration in which he utilises his considerable counselling and negotiation skills to achieve results. He is a writer on Sharia law for international law publications, economic digests and other media and is keen to give students an understanding of corporate and financial law and its impact on business development.

Tim is a senior consultant with Bachelor degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering and extensive senior line management experience in these fields. A paradigm shift in his interests into the human relations discipline prompted him to complete further degrees in Occupational Psychology and recently a UK Masters degree in EC Employment Law specialising in Human Relations, Human Rights and Competition. His interest and skill in project and people management has been utilised by companies in which he has managed major organisational and personnel changes, most recently preparing a monopoly for privatisation, liberalisation and the resultant competition. Throughout his career Tim has lectured extensively at national and international seminars and symposiums. He has continued to manage line activities in commercial and industrial organisations at middle and senior management level in the UK and abroad. He has tutored, mentored, counselled and advised students at degree, masters and doctorate level. As a freelance senior consultant Tim continues to advise companies, organisations and institutions, counsels individuals and groups, and mentors students completing academic and vocational courses.

Thelma has a Bachelors degree from the University of Wales UK and broad knowledge of educational and training systems throughout the world. She is a Fellow of the prestigious UK Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and has held senior positions in commerce, a national training institution and the public sector. She was the senior training and development officer for a public sector department and has taught and lectured on commercial applications, human resource management, business administration, leadership and training skills. Latterly she has managed the administration of open / distance learning programmes for universities, colleges and professional institutions. Thelma is able to provide students with guidance, advice and counselling with regard to programmes, fees and administration and also various subjects in the study programmes.

Vijay graduated with a BSc in Mathematics & Chemistry then qualified as a Cost & Management Accountant from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI).  He also holds a Certificate in Business Accounting from the UK Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. In addition to his teaching experience, Vijay has worked within the accounting functions of the oil and manufacturing industries, developing and processing payroll software and analysing optimum capacity utilizations for production machinery. He draws on his industrial experience to create real life illustrations whilst teaching.
